(A) Teachers training  & Induciton progam (Specially for New Teachers)

Teacher Seng Yip, the course instructor require all participants to complete the attached survey form (sheet on General and Dharma) before the training.  Please email the completed survey latest  by Wed, 4.12012.

(B) Annual Teachers Meeting 

Please take note of the below dates on the Annual  Teachers Meeting for all teachers:

English Saturday Dharma Teachers       14/1/2012          9am-12.30pm

Chinese Dharma Teachers:                   14/1/2012         2pm-5.30pm

English Sunday Dharma Teachers         15/1/2012          9-12.30pm.

It is an annual event  held before the start of the school.   The school’s direction for 2012 and other important news will be shared with the teachers.  Teacher’s attendance is compulsory and I apologise if I miss to inform the new teachers on the above dates earlier.

The Buddha advised:

“Go forth to teach, out of compassion for the world, for the benefit, welfare and happiness of men.”

Please come forth to join our big family! This is a Dharmic and meaningful voluntary position that assists the Children, Youths and yourself to grow in many ways!

Dharma Knowledge
Basic knowledge about the Dharma. Our Dharma teachers will teach with the Dharma materials provided by the school and guide the students to apply these teachings to their daily life.

Training & Development
New teachers will undergo some basic training and learn hands-on in the classroom with an experienced co-teacher. On-going support and supervision will be provided.

Time Commitment
About 20-30 sessions per year (either Saturday or Sunday, 2-3 hours per session)

Teaching Materials:
Our professional staff will prepare them for you.

Pre-requisites:

  • A Buddhist who follows the Teachings of the Buddha;
  • Has the heart and passion to educate, to act as a friend and mentor to Children and Youths;
  • Likes to work with Children/Youths;
  • Able to commit for at least one year.
