OBJECTIVES
1) To help Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Sat/Sun school students from low income background to have the
ability to continue their study.
2) To provide pocket money for successful students who have received our bursary to buy food at school tuckshop during recess time.
3) To sponsor talented students from low income background to attend courses
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
1) Applicant must be Singapore Citizen/Permanent Resident.
2) Students of Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Sat/Sun school. (Student must be still studying in the Sat/Sun
school at the point of applying and while receiving the bursary.
3) Applicants must be currently studying in a government school or educational institution or independent
school, not including private school.
4) Applicants who come from household monthly gross income of less than or equal to S$2,000.
5) Applicants should not be receiving any other bursary schemes.
6) Applicants must be staying in HDB flats of not more than 4 rooms, or other accommodation of same or
worse conditions.
APPLICATION
Interested applicants may obtain the application form from Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery’s Reception Office. The duly completed application form, together with the required documents must reach the following address on or before the stipulated date. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
The following documents must be attached together with the application form: -
a) a copy of the student’s last academic school examination result slip,
a) a certified copy of parents’/guardian’s and students’ Identity card or birth certificate,
b) last income pay slips of the parents/guardian,
c) copies of all banks’ pass books, and
d) the latest CPF statement.
e) Separation/Divorce letter or Death Certificate of spouse
f) Statements’ of other bursaries that applicant or applicant’s parent/guardian is currently receiving from or in process
AWARD SYSTEM
1) Awards are given to: i) Primary school students & ii) Secondary school students.
2) The selection board will decide the award recipients within a month after the closing date.
3) Applicants should possess good conduct and be recommended by their Sat/Sun School teacher.
4) Families suffering from sudden hardship or loss of income from sole breadwinner will get the priority.
SELECTION
Applicants and their parents/guardian who are qualified are required to appear for an interview. The decision shall be final and no correspondence on the matter will be entertained.

宗 旨
1) 帮助来自低 收入家庭的光明山普觉禅寺周日学校的学童继续他们的学业。
2) 为 领 取 本 寺 助 学 金 的 学 童 提 供 零 用 钱，让 他 们 在 休 息 时间 在 学 校 食 堂 购 买 食 物。
3）资 助 有 才 华 的 贫 困 学 童 报 读 校 外 课 程 （如 音 乐 课、绘 画 课 等）。
申 请 资 格
1) 新 加 坡 公 民或新加坡永久居民。
2) 在 本 校 就 读 (目 前 及 领 奖 时 还 是 在 本 校 就 读 的 学 生)。
3) 目 前于 一 间 政 府 学 校 或 教 育 学 府 或 自 主 学 校，不 包 括 私 人 学 府。
4) 家 庭 每 月 总 收 入 是 S$2,000 或 以 下。
5) 申 请 者 不 应 是 其 他 助 学 金 计 划 的 领 受 者 。
6) 申 请 者 必 须 居 住 在 四 房 式 或 更 小 型 的 政 府 组 屋， 或 条 件 一 样 或 更 差 的 其 他
房 屋 里。
申 请 方 法
请 于向 光 明 山 普 觉 禅 寺 接 待 处 索 取 申 请 表 格。填 妥 后 的 申 请 表 格 须 在 以 上 指 定 的 截 止日 期 或 之 前 送 达 光 明 山 普 觉 禅 寺。恕 不 接 受 逾 期 提 交 或 不 完 整 的 申 请 表 格。
呈 交 表 格 时，必 须 附 上以下文件：
a) 学 生前年 学 校 年 终 考 试 成 绩 表 的 确 实 副 本，
b) 家 长/护人 和学生的身 份 证 (I/C)或出生报 的 影 印 本，
b) 家 长/监护人最 新 的 收 入发 单 ，
c) 所 有 有 关 的 银 行 存 折 ，
d) 最 新 的 公 积 金 发 单，
e) 分居/离婚信件或 伴侣的死亡证书，
f) 其他助学金的文件或获取其他善款的文件。
颁 发 考 量 因 素
1) 款 项 将 颁 发 给：1〕小 学 生 及 2〕中 学 生。
2) 遴 选 委 员 会 将 在 截 止 日 期 后 的 一 个 月 内 决 定 领 取 者 名 单。
3) 申 请 者 应 拥 有 良 好 品 行， 并 获 得 普 觉 禅 寺 周 末 学 校 老 师 的 推 荐。
4) 突 然 陷 入 困 境 或 丧 失 家 中 唯 一 收 入 来 源 的 家 庭 将 优 先 获 得 考 虑。
遴 选
符 合 资 格 的 申 请 者 和 其 家 长或监护人必 须 出 席 遴 选 委 员 会 的 面 试。委 员 会 的 决 定 将 是 最 后 决定，恕 不 接 受 任 何 事 后 询 问。
