These school rules and regulations ensure that you can learn, practise, realise and share in a safe, happy and caring place. It is your responsibility to observe them.

     1.       Attendance

  • Attendance is compulsory during the School Term.
  • Puja is compulsory and you should be seated in the Shrine Hall before puja starts.
  • Submit a Leave Application Form (obtainable from the School) or a letter of explanation from your parents if you are absent. Failure to do so will be considered as absence without reason.
  • If you are absent (without reason) for more than 3 times, the School will call up your parents and reserves the right to decide whether to allow you to continue your studies in the School.

       2.       Dressing & Footwear

  • To wear the School T-shirt and long pants when attending School. The colour should be plain. No shorts or other shirts are allowed except during special occasions.
  • Place your footwear neatly and orderly in the shoe racks outside your classrooms.

 

   3.       Serious Misdemeanours

The School will take serious action against the following:

  • Acts of cheating, bullying, fighting, dishonesty, indecency, hooliganism, theft, vandalism and possession of undesirable materials.
  • Smoking, consumption of alcohol, drug abuse and glue-sniffing.
  • Arrogance, offensive language, vulgarities and rudeness shown through words, gestures or actions.
  • Usage of Handphones and electronic game devices during school hours.

     4.       Disciplinary Actions

  • The School reserves its right to take disciplinary actions as it deems fit.

 

IMPORTANT OBSERVANCES

      5.       In the Temple

  • Place your palms together and greet Monks, Nuns, Principal and Teachers politely when you see them.
  • Speak courteously and pleasantly at all times.
  • Be mindful and do not shout and run around.

      6.       In the Main Shrine Hall

  • On entering the Shrine Hall, prostrate to the Buddha and walk mindfully to your seat.
  • Maintain Noble Silence in the Shrine Hall.
  • Do not put any personal belongings on top of the donation boxes.
  • Do not eat sweets/chewing gum/drink water etc in the Shrine Hall. Ask for permission from your teachers to drink water outside the Shrine Hall if there is a need.
  • When leaving the Shrine Hall, chant “Om Mani Padme Hum” or “南无本师释迦摩尼佛” sincerely and move as a class in an orderly manner back to your classrooms.

      7.       In the Classroom

  • Place your palms together and greet your teachers “Good morning, Teacher YYY ” or “Good afternoon, Teacher YYY” when you enter the class.
  • Raise your hand and wait for your teacher to call you before you speak.
  • Observe appropriate behaviour and be considerate to others.
  • Use the temple properties with care. Do not play and throw the cushions around.
  • Keep the classrooms clean, neat and tidy.

      8.       Puja

  • Sit properly with your back straight and in cross-legged position.
  • You are encouraged to join in the “Om Mani Padme Hum” chanting which lasts for 5 minutes before the actual puja commences.
  • Follow the chanting and meditation diligently.
